Heidelberg Castle

The Heidelberg Castle is world-famous and a symbol for German Romanticism. Its ruins rise majestically over the roofs of the old town and attract around a million international visitors each year.

  • Heidelberg Old Town / Old Bridge

    The famous Old Bridge, built of Neckar valley sandstone, connects the Old Town with the eastern end of the Neuenheim district. West of the Bridge Gate, Heidelberg Old Town, the oldest part of the city, is located just below the Castle.

  • Schwetzingen Palace

    Schwetzingen Palace is famous for the beauty and harmony of its gardens as its original design has survived until today. The castle garden with its fountains, wells, and wonderful mosque, its pavilions, temples and sculptures, was designed by order of the last Prince-Elector, Charles Theodore.
