When Software Becomes Strategy

Changes in buying behavior, increased individualization, and faster and shorter product lifecycles are just some examples of how digital transformation rewrites the rule book of competition. Where once iconic brands stood tall, fast-growing digital innovators are now disrupting whole industries, boldly showing ways to overcome traditional business models and be a kick-starter in a shared economy. Today, every company, no matter the size or industry, needs to drive innovation by connecting business processes with new technology, software, devices, and people, while at the same time keeping core enterprise processes stable and reliable. As companies look to run, steer, and differentiate their business, traditional siloes that have existed between software and strategy are disappearing. The keynote from Bernd Leukert, member of the SAP Executive Board responsible for products and innovation, highlights how companies can leverage cloud applications, platforms, machine learning, and the Internet of Things to not only optimize their business, but also more importantly differentiate their business to drive value – by putting software front and center of their digital strategy.
