SAP Business Data Cloud Fundamentals for a BW Developer (Reporting & Planning)

Analysis Prime Inc. and SeaPark, together with SAP, invite you to join this 2-hour virtual hands-on SAP Business Cloud demo. In this workshop, you will learn the following concepts both from a theory and hands on perspective:

  • Unified Data Layer: Unlike traditional SAP BW, which focuses on structured data modeling, SAP Business Data Cloud integrates both structured and unstructured data across cloud and on-premise systems. It serves as a central layer that connects data from various sources like SAP S/4HANA, non-SAP databases, and external systems.
  • Enhanced Data Modeling: For SAP BW developers, data modeling in SAP Business Data Cloud  remains a key aspect, but it offers more agility. Instead of rigid InfoCubes and DSO objects, developers can create virtual models that combine data from different sources dynamically, without the need for heavy ETL processes.
  • Data Virtualization: SAP Business Data Cloud enables data virtualization, meaning you can access and query data from external systems in real-time without physically moving the data into the cloud. This is a shift from the more traditional data warehousing approach in BW, which relies on data replication.
  • Integration with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC): SAP Business Data Cloud  seamlessly integrates with SAP Analytics Cloud for real-time analytics and reporting. BW developers can take advantage of advanced analytics features like predictive modelling and machine learning embedded within SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Planning Models in SAC: Planning Models are prepared and configured for performing business planning tasks such as forecasting to support and streamline the planning process.  See how Planning Models are built and how to also configure them for Seamless Planning with SAP Business Data Cloud.
  • Seamless Planning: An innovative approach to planning integration between SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Business Data Cloud. This connection is intended to simplify the planning process and make it possible to save SAC data models in SAP Business Data Cloud and use the data in real time reporting.
  • Governance and Security: SAP Business Data Cloud  maintains SAP’s strong focus on data governance, privacy, and compliance, offering built-in tools for data lineage, access controls, and data sharing, which are essential for enterprise-level deployments.
