This course offers insights into the SAP HANA® business data platform. Participants learn what differences exist between a relational and an in-memory database.

On the first day of this introduction course, the basic concepts will be introduced and new possibilities with SAP HANA are discussed. In a hands-on session the course participants will learn different Extract-Transform-Load processes and use SAP HANA Smart Data Integration (SDI) to load data into the database. Based on this data different logical views will be created. Data will be visualized using SAP Lumira.

On the following days the focus is on data mining, text mining and predictive analysis. The data stored in HANA will be analyzed with the tool SAP Predictive Analysis. Participants will create forecasts of future revenue of the model company Global Bike and analyze the results. They also learn how to do a Sentiment Analysis with SAP HANA.

On the last day, the participants may choose between two different learning areas such as native development with SAP HANA using OData Service, SAP Fiori and SAP UI5 or Geospatial Data by visualizing geospatial customer data. Participants also learn about SAP HANA certification for faculty and students and how to enroll for this certification through SAP Education

Objective of this course is to gain comprehensive knowledge about the ERP Simulation Game (ERPsim), an innovative concept of interactive learning and the acquisition of ERP knowledge using SAP ERP, SAP HANA and SAP Lumira.

The ERPsim simulation game is automating several business processes:

1. The sales process, so that every firm receives a large number of orders in each period of the simulation.

2. Part of the production process, in order to account for production capacity.

3. Part of the procurement process to account for delay in delivery and payment.

Using SAP ERP, the team members have to produce goods on stock and interact with customers and vendors as they have to create purchase orders, pay delivered raw material, receive and deliver customer orders, and receive payment from their customers. Each group is competing against each other with the main objective to maximize profit. ERPsim provides lectures as well as team members’ extensive information about the financial status of their companies. By this way, the link between entrepreneurial decisions and the result in terms of profitability gets transparent for the participants.

Completion of this course grants the participant the ERPsim Level 1 certification, which allows the use of ERPsim in class and provides access to all the material.

SAP S/4HANA is the next-generation business suite designed to meet the challenges and opportunities resulting from the digital transformation of business.

At the beginning of the course, participants are introduced to the SAP University Alliances program, SAP S/4 HANA and best practices for teaching with University Alliances curricula.

The first part of the S/4HANA introduction course explains the main concepts of S/4HANA, the resulting architectural changes, and the new user interface SAP Fiori. The introduction of these concepts will be accompanied by first practical exercises. Moreover, the integrated model company Global Bike Inc. (GBI) will be introduced, as well as lecturer notes and system/user administration.

Furthermore, an introduction to business processes with SAP S/4HANA is given. The focus is on exercises and case studies highlighting the integration of central business areas. For example, Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Financial Accounting (FI), and Controlling (CO) will be presented and practiced in the system.

Additionally, the new curriculum “The Digital Transformation of Global Bike” will be introduced. An overview of all modules will be given, with a focus on the modules available for SAP S/4HANA. Finally, selected topics of the curriculum will be presented and practiced in the system.

Blockchain is an innovative new way of recording transactions in a distributed public (or private) ledger. Blockchain is the distributed and decentralized database technology behind cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.This workshop explores the fundamentals of the public, transparent, secure, immutable and distributed database called blockchain. Blockchains can be used to record and transfer any digital asset not just currency. Its potential impact on financial services, government, banking, contracting and identity management will be discussed. This workshop will explore both enterprise blockchain such as SAP Leonardo Blockchain as well as public blockchain such as Bitcoin.
