An ERP clean core strategy is a way forward for organizations to use the latest release, minimize or eliminate modifications, and run with cloud-compliant extensions and customizations. SAP’s Clean Core strategy is one of the cornerstones of the RISE with SAP motion as it safeguards the path for our joint customers to a truly modern Cloud ERP approach. SAP Business AI allows for unprecedented automation, decision making, and use experience in a trustful, reliable, and relevant way. Customers derive substantially increased cloud transformation value by SAP Business AI as it is only available in the cloud.

SAP offers extensibility options for SAP S/4HANA Cloud editions that follow the rules of the cloud extensibility models. For this Hack2Build initiative we require participating partner teams to utilize the side-by-side extensibility services on SAP Business Technology Platform with released standard APIs as an approach to extend SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition in an upgrade-stable manner. With the recent announcement, SAP Build Code is generally available, our generative AI-based pro-code solution, which complements our low code offerings to provide you with a powerful toolset to build your Cloud ERP extensions. While on-stack ABAP Cloud developments may be used in this Hack2Build, it will not have specific support offered. Through the Hack2Build initiative you can champion and build innovations which are repeatable in nature using Clean Core principles and SAP Business AI capabilities, and drive customers’ success on their RISE with SAP journey. The solution built could also be certified later by SAP as Clean Core compliant. 

Hack2Build, ‘Beyond a Hackathon’ is an initiative which brings together the creativity and speed of prototyping by the partners in just 7 days. Partners validate their ideas with SAP during the ‘Hackathon phase’ and are encouraged to move from prototyping to the ‘Build phase’, to develop their market-ready solution.

As a part of the Hack2Build initiative, you can submit your clean-core use case for extending SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition functionality. Once the use case is submitted, SAP experts will validate your use case in terms of technical feasibility and customer relevance. For the accepted use case, SAP will coach you and provide support and guidelines for development.

By joining this event, you plan to build solutions as per SAP's Clean Core strategy.

For the Hack phase, we encourage partners to bring your own landscape. You should note that SAP does not provide SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition via test, demonstration, and development licensing. You will have to use Cloud Appliance Library image of your on-premise landscape.
