Mark Smitherman

Product Manager, SAP Ariba Sourcing AI

Mark Smitherman is the Product Manager for SAP Ariba Sourcing AI, where he leads innovation at the intersection of sourcing and artificial intelligence. With nearly a decade at SAP, Mark brings deep expertise in procurement technology, having previously contributed to the SAP Source Agent product team and the customer adoption organization.

Before joining SAP, Mark was a seasoned sourcing practitioner across multiple industries. At Caesars Entertainment, he successfully deployed and managed SAP Ariba for five years, scaling system usage to over $1 billion in spend. As Director of IT Sourcing, he led a team of 12 professionals overseeing $300 million in IT spend and managed hundreds of IT contracts. His earlier roles included SAP Ariba implementations in the banking and construction supply sectors.

Mark holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Investment Management and Computer Science from The University of Alabama.
