Vice President, Corporate Plant Operations




Eric Johnson serves as a vice president in Corporate Plant Operations at Cargill, a provider of food, agriculture, financial and industrial products. In this role he is the Global Process leader for four of Cargill’s functions: Supply Chain Planning, Plant Operations, Environment, Health & Safety and Food Safety Quality and Regulatory. These functions oversee the processes used across Cargill’s 1,500 diverse locations in 70 countries.  


Johnson’s career at Cargill began in 1981, when he joined Cargill’s global Corn Milling business.  During his time in the Corn Milling, Eric worked in numerous operations and engineering management positions including managing two of Cargill’s largest biorefineries. 


 In 2009, Eric joined Cargill’s global business transformation effort. As part of the transformation, Eric lead the design of the first Plan to Produce processes within Cargill’s SAP program. 


Eric returned to operations in 2014, when he became a member of Cargill’s Senior Plant Operations Leadership team, a team responsible for the strategic vision and management of Cargill’s operations. As a Senior Plant Operations leader, Eric is responsible for Cargill’s Manufacturing Excellence Process, Data & Technology. 


Eric holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University and is graduate of the University of Minnesota Executive Program.
