Tuesday

12:30 p.m.–1:30 p.m.

Realizing and Inspiring Empathy Though Storytelling
Are you a technical expert struggling to tell the story of your product? To inspire people to action, it's just not enough to present facts and figures. To inspire empathy in our audience, you have to first realize your own empathy, which we can do through storytelling. In this workshop, you’ll practice realizing empathy through storytelling by recounting a business-related story such as selling a product, selling yourself to an employer, or getting a raise. Others will provide feedback and learn from observation.

Led by: Seung Chan Lim, SAP Mentor and Executive Coach

Wednesday

11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

The Basics of Communication
While many SAP TechEd sessions focus on product knowledge and technical skills, soft skills are just as important. Software development and implementation are team activities, and communication is key to success. Here we’ll reflect on the basics of human communication (using the “four sides model of a message” approach). Apply this knowledge to reduce misunderstandings and help solve conflicts following the Harvard Concept methodology.

Led by: Rolf Sieber, SAP Coach

Thursday

11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Building Your Personal Brand on SAP Community
Learn why your personal brand is critical to career success for technical professionals in today’s global and digital business world. A digital marketing specialist and professional blogger will personally help you make the most of the SAP Community to build your reputation as an SAP expert.

Led by: Jamie Cantrell, SAP Community Manager

1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
Workshop – Human Interaction Design

Faced with a challenging situation in your personal or professional relationships? Are you doing your best to solve this problem, and it's just getting worse? Relationships are a complex adaptive system. A problem-solving mindset does not work well with complex adaptive systems. We need a different mindset – one imbued with empathy. Become aware of how we sabotage (unintentionally and blindly) our relationships with ourselves and our team members, managers, subordinates, and significant others and design a more effective paradigm of interaction.
