Dr Fariba Alamdari and her team lead the creation and delivery of Boeing-branded leadership-development services to commercial and defense customers as well as strategic partners. Previously, Dr. Alamdari’s key responsibilities as vice president of marketing included BCA’s global go-to-market strategies as well as analytics, modeling, and simulation in support of sales and product development. She led market analysis, Current Market Outlook (CMO) forecast, economic and financial analysis, as well as airline network and revenue analysis teams. She also led the operation and development of the Customer Experience Center (CEC) and Centre for Airline Excellence (CAE).

 

In 2006, she joined Boeing from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, where she served as chair of the university’s Department of Air Transport, professor of Air Transport Management, and dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Manufacturing and Science. In those roles, she worked closely with airlines to help make them more profitable, productive, and innovative and also consulted with airports, aircraft manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and service providers.

 

In addition to publishing more than 70 articles and reports on aviation-related issues, Dr. Alamdari has chaired and spoken at many international conferences. She is also a frequent speaker on the importance of diversity. She is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and recipient of several awards, including: “Woman of the Year” by Air Transport News in 2016, "Ellis Island Medal of Honor“ from The National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) in 2016, "Leadership Award” from the Centre for Women & Democracy in 2015, the “Professional Award” from Career Communication Group, Inc in 2011, “Professional Practice Recognition Award” from State University of New York Institute of Technology in 2010, and “Sorenson Best Paper Award” for the paper on “Marketing to Female Business Travelers” published in the Journal of Air Transportation World Wide in 2000.

 

Alamdari received a PhD from Cranfield University on the economic impact of airline deregulation in 1988, an honorary Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa in 2017, a master’s degree in transport economics from Cranfield University, and an undergraduate degree in politics and economics from the University of Social and Political Studies in Tehran. She is currently the chair of the advisory board of University of Washington Bothell, and is a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University, UK. She has served on the board of the Boeing Leadership Development Excellence, NeighborCare Health, and British American Business Council in Washington State. Dr. Alamdari resides in Bellevue, Washington with her husband, and has a son and a daughter.
