Human-Centered Tech and Design Shaping Society

Friday, March 8 | 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Christian Bason, Casper Klynge, Ann Rosenberg

Until recently, we entrusted Silicon Valley and the global tech elites with a very important task: to shape a better tomorrow. We looked to them to empower and enlighten people and businesses, to make technology democratic, and to create a new, more sustainable form of capitalism and society. We left our future in the wrong hands. It’s become increasingly apparent that current big tech models for innovation are violating rather than addressing basic human needs such as privacy, data protection and sustainability. It is time for us to take charge of our own fates again. We must create a new global tech leadership, one that puts humanity first without sacrificing innovation. In other words, we must shift our focus away from profits towards posterity when designing and developing business and societies.

SAP Debuts “PowHerful” Artwork at the Female Quotient Lounge for Equality
March 8 - 10

The best way to share a story? Show, don’t tell. That’s why we’re narrating our customers’ journeys through art as part of an initiative called the Gallery of Purpose. For the Female Quotient, we’ve put together “PowHerful”, a striking celebration of gender equality. Created by artist Markus Sebastiano, the life-sized piece features children of both genders boosting up a girl so she can illuminate the words “her” in the word “Powherful”. Come by to witness the poignant message the piece communicates: we all have a responsibility to uplift gender equality and we all benefit from it. There’s no reason not to do our part.
